Serving both UK and Indian companies and working closely with the Department for International Trade (DIT), ADS the premier trade organisation for companies in the UK Aerospace, Defence, Security and Space sectors, established its India operations in 2009. ADS India has a presence in both New Delhi and Bengaluru. We support the development of UK companies’ business interests in India, in partnership with the UK and local Indian regional trade associations, other sector trade associations and devolved administrations.

The 2017 Indo-UK Defence Partnership aims to bring industries from both countries together to participate in the ‘Make/manufacture in India’ initiative, and to go on to ‘design, develop and globally export world class products together’.  This offers new potential business opportunities for UK Industry, at all levels – Primes to SMEs – as they develop increased awareness of how to operate and engage in India across the Aerospace, Defence and Security sectors.

With its substantial defence budget, a booming civil and military aviation market, and ambitious homeland security plans, India is a country no company can afford to ignore. ADS Membership offers the structure and support to help secure business both in India, as well as in the UK.

ADS India provides its Members with hassle-free growth opportunities in this exciting and dynamic market. Depending on the specific goals of the Member Company, we can provide a plethora of services ranging from the provision of tailored market intelligence to assistance in the establishment of commercial operations in India.

ADS India was quick to realise that a dual communication channel was required to achieve higher rates of collaboration between the Indian and UK industries and, has therefore, introduced a special Membership for Indian companies looking to become a part of the UK supply chain. This is the first time ADS has extended its activities to directly support non-UK companies, reflecting the strategic importance of India as a market and a partner nation. The cluster of UK and Indian Member companies offers a beneficial dialogue and opportunities for collaboration.

key location in thriving hub

Bengaluru is a well-established and thriving hub for Aerospace, Defence, Space industries. ADS India opened operations to support our UK Members and the objectives of the ‘ Make / Manufacture in India’ drive.  The Bangalore region is also where most of the DPSUs (Defence Public Sector Undertakings) and a large pool of private industry are located. Thus, we support Members who are keen to establish business with these Indian organisations.

ADS India also works for Members at the interface of Indian Government, the Armed Forces, the Indian MoD, the British High Commission in New Delhi, and the Indian High Commission in London. ADS Regional Director: South Asia, Colonel Gobinder (Gobi) Singh, has been strategically positioned in Delhi to support Member Companies to secure business in India and also some of the neighbouring countries of South Asia. Through sharing his extensive network of contacts, he provides much valued assistance to Members by decreasing the time needed for companies to build the all-important trust that first has to be established before business can commence. ADS also has MoUs/working arrangements in place with leading trade associations such as CII, FICCI, PDHCCI and UKIBC where Members’ capabilities are showcased via networks and events such as apex forums, seminars and exhibitions.
